Exam Coordinator Frequently Asked Questions
When will you be shipping my examination materials?
The National Registry of EMTs ships examination materials two weeks before  the examination date. provided we have received your acceptable reservation list.
A candidate took the examination ten days ago and hasn’t received any official results yet. Can he test next week since he doesn’t think he did very well and already made reservations to test at the upcoming site?
Candidates who have not received official psychomotor results from a previous examination are unable to reschedule for another examination. Please direct the candidate to contact the NREMT so that we may investigate why the previous psychomotor results have not been processed.
Where can a student take the Emergency Medical Responder or Emergency Medical Technician cognitive examination?
After establishing eligibility for the examination by completing an approved EMR or EMT course and the approved course-ending practical examination within the past twelve months, candidates can schedule a cognitive examination. Candidates should contact the appropriate State EMS Office directly for more information about EMR or EMT practical examinations.
Is it possible to add two candidates to the roster for a scheduled Advanced Level examination? The test is still four days away.
After the deadline for an examination (usually three weeks prior to the scheduled examination), the only way possible to add candidates to a roster is by personal contact from the Examination Coordinator to this office. Candidates will only be added to a roster at the sole discretion and approval of the National Registry. Unless there are overwhelming legitimate circumstances, candidates will not be added to any roster after the deadline for submission to this office has passed.
I’ve just taken a reservation from a candidate who is not from my area. Should I collect his application and fee and send it in with all the other applications and fees I’ve collected from my students?
It is safest for you to direct all outside candidates to forward their completed applications and fees directly to the National Registry office by the cut-off date for submission that was listed in your confirmation letter. Candidates must indicate on the top of the application your facility, city, state, and date of the examination so it can be filed with all other materials for your examination.
